Core Question

Who can multiply my capability?

What This Stage Teaches

Skill to Develop

Building a circle of capable, honest people who make you better: contributing more than you extract, seeking correction instead of avoiding it, and resolving conflict directly instead of letting it accumulate.

The Biblical Framework

  1. ACCEPT INTERDEPENDENCE

“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their work. And if one has a fall, the other will give him a hand; but unhappy is the man who is by himself, because he has no helper.”

    Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
  2. CHOOSE WISE PEOPLE

“Go with wise men and be wise: but he who keeps company with the foolish will be broken.”

    Proverbs 13:20
  3. GIVE VALUE BEFORE YOU ASK

“Doing nothing through envy or through pride, but with low thoughts of self let everyone take others to be better than himself, not looking everyone to his private good, but keeping in mind the things of others.”

    Philippians 2:3-4
  4. SEEK TRUTHFUL FEEDBACK

“The wounds of a friend are given in good faith, but the kisses of a hater are false.”

    Proverbs 27:6
  5. BUILD COMPLEMENTARY TEAMS

“For as the body is one, and has a number of parts, and all the parts make one body, so is Christ. ... For the body is not one part, but a number of parts. ... And if there is pain in one part of the body, all the parts will be feeling it; or if one part is honoured, all the parts will be glad. (excerpted from the fuller passage)”

    1 Corinthians 12:12-27
  6. ADDRESS CONFLICT DIRECTLY

“And if your brother does wrong to you, go, make clear to him his error between you and him in private: if he gives ear to you, you have got your brother back again.”

    Matthew 18:15

The Hard Questions

Exercise

The Five Categories

Name someone in each category: a mentor ahead of you, a peer running alongside you, a challenger who tells you when you're wrong, a protégé you're helping become better, and someone you can be completely honest with. Any empty category is worth addressing.

MASTER MIND: Build a circle of wise, trustworthy, complementary people, contribute more than you extract, seek honest correction, and resolve conflict directly to accomplish what you couldn't alone.
